The key to life is a clean, healthy colon. Eddie Murphy, Raw
And, here's a nice sunset, if you prefer that kind of thing. :)

red daylily
I am particularly fond of this daylily. My daughter picked it out when she was much younger, when it was sitting, quite dilapidated, in the clearance section of the nursery, in the dog days of August. She had to rescue it and give it a home, because she is just that kind of girl.
To make its life harder, we divided it and planted it in two locations. The two plants persevered the first couple of years, with only one or two blooms on each plant, but still beautiful. Just today, I noticed how well they are thriving, with prolific blooming in their peaceful, shady locations. I love a plant with a back story. :)

a chair, a guitar, and a window
This chair was in my grandparents parlor, some forty years ago. Yes, we did have a parlor! I remember how much I loved to play in there and look at all of my grandmother's books, knick-knacks, and the oil painting's of my Dad and his sister. It was a very magical room for me.
This chair now has my daughter's name written on it, in black sharpie, because when she was younger she compulsively wrote her name everywhere. You can find her name in all sorts of nooks and crannies in our house. Now that enough time has gone by, it kinda makes me smile.

I had a plethora of photos today. I love so many of them that it was hard to chose just one. But choose I did. I consoled myself by posting my other favorites on my main blog.

People Mover
We took a trip into the city today, to peruse the National Gallery of Art. Here we are on the People Mover in the tunnel between the East and West Galleries. It was a wonderful visit and I will blog about it tomorrow, with more pictures of course, on Ampersand's Space.
