a chair, a guitar, and a window

This chair was in my grandparents parlor, some forty years ago. Yes, we did have a parlor! I remember how much I loved to play in there and look at all of my grandmother's books, knick-knacks, and the oil painting's of my Dad and his sister. It was a very magical room for me.

This chair now has my daughter's name written on it, in black sharpie, because when she was younger she compulsively wrote her name everywhere. You can find her name in all sorts of nooks and crannies in our house. Now that enough time has gone by, it kinda makes me smile.

I like this one a lot, nice feel to it. We have a lot of guitar pickers in our family, this one feels like home. :)

Interesting how those things that aggravate when they happen turn into cherished memories later! :D My son carved his name in a window sill.

Hey I've been missing in action but just getting back and I LOVE this picture. It's really peaceful, with the light and the green and the history of the chair...
