Grey, Contempletive Day
I stopped on the drive home from the barn this morning to photograph these woods. I inadvertently took the first shot on the night setting (left there from the Almost Night shot). Although I *corrected* the setting for the rest of my shots, this first one has the truest, and richest, colors of this grey day. Happy accident :).

My woods look much like this too today. You've really captured the season.
Happy accident indeed. Isn't it nice when that happens. I love the blue in 'Almost Night' that you posted below.
What kind of point and shoot do you have? You do such a great job with it.
Paula, I use a Nikon L3. It is really small and easy to carry aroud with me. For a point and shoot, it does a great job.
I want to walk into those woods. Very peaceful photo!

Gorgeous photo! It looks so peaceful here, yet bursting with "aliveness." You are taking some great pictures.
I relly like the last two pictures. The night shot, I am sure was especially difficult to shoot. Great color on both! The lone star and the lights on the ground have a nice compositional juxtoposition.
Jeff, the thing that made the night shot so difficult was keeping the camera still enough with the long exposure of the night setting.
I finally pressed the camera against the frame of the car door and got the shot. I took shots on both the dusk/dawn and night settings.
I can only imagine how much fun it would be to have a *real* camera to play with. I love the art that you are able to create with your camera!
I am dreaming of a DSLR for my birthday :).
Or was that Dali using her pseudonym?
No, that was me. Yes, you can do a lot more with a dslr, but it is much harder to hold still for those long exposures. It is also much more obtrusive to carry around. I'd like to get a nice point and shoot to keep in my pocket.
Yeah, I can definitely see your point with that. The smaller cameras are nice for this project.
And at $130, my camera is amazing at what it can do.
nice. i can almost smell the leaves...
