How do you get the ideas of what to put together? I'd never have gotten the idea to put a sweet gum ball or pod or whatever you call them on a spiral notebook!
So, it makes me want to go listen to the sweetgum ball and journal what I hear. One of our prayer exercises a couple of years ago in my SDI class was to listen to a shell and let the shell "talk" to us and pray for us. It was a cool experience...so now, I'm wondering how a sweetgum ball would pray for me. I suspect we may have some prickly points of similarities. :)
You beat me to it!! I keep thinking what a neat photo the sweetgum balls would make, but never saw them in a setting I thought would work. It never once crossed my mind to take one home from my walk and set it someplace else! I like this.
I'd hang this on my wall if I had a copy. I love the eay the top sort of curves as it goes up. the sweet gum's answer to the flower. ;-) I sure don't like stepping on those suckers in the yard, though!
Very neat idea putting it on that notebook. The lines lead your eyes right to the subject and also add contrast. I'm just loving the mix of those two seemingly unconnected things. Great job.
Yeah, what they all said. I love the combo and love how the quirky lines are supported by the notebook lines. I also like the notebook open so that those lines angle against each other too.

Great combo and very creative! Those sweeetgum balls hurt when you step on them!

I like the contrast of the straight lines and the spiky gumball! Neat picture.

Ooh... I love those pods, so textural.
