This is our front yard. Technically, it is common area for our neighborhood, but I claim these majestic pines as my own.

There is another off to the right of this shot. The three of them stand guard and give privacy to the entire front of our house, including the second floor.

Even, better is the bed of pine needles they drop. Never fails to bring a fond memory of my Central Florida childhood.

One of my grandmothers lived in the piney woods of Arkansas. I have happy memories of my sister and I making "houses" from the pine needles. We would use the needles to outline the rooms. You could spend an afternoon designing and building your own house, then rake up the needles and start on a new one the next day.

Susan, that's a wonderful memory.

My grandfather used to let me drive the tractor, pulling the sweeper behind me, to get all the pine needles up from the lawn. He would not let me mow, but he would let me pull the sweeper.

I really like the way the yellow and blue form almost an arrow that draws your eye into the image. I can imagine myself standing right there.

I just LOVE trees - especially big OLD trees! We lost most of ours when the beavers moved into the wetland behind us and decided they had a taste for oak...=( (but having the beavers here was pretty cool, too).

I also like the streaming pictures you have on your page - how did you do that?

I made the rolling strip in photobucket and then added the HTML code (provided by photobucket) here in blogger.

Thanks for the comments! I all add you to my links :-).
