Shadow Self

I took this because I liked the pattern and contrasts. As it turns out, this image really reflects how I feel about myself today, perhaps even more than I care to admit.

I love shadow self portraits. They say a LOT...but they are only part of who we are. I just read a really good book on the shadow self that shows how those parts of us are necessary and bring growth.

Hugs,
Susan

This one took me a minute and then when I realized it was carpet and shadow, I was surprised! I like it a lot.

Are you feeling walked on, or square and colorful? I don't mean to make light, just couldn't resist. a little humor always helps me in those situations. I feel like a carpet quite often. Susan, what book is it?

It is a really neat shot. It is also a beautiful rug.

I too love shadow potraits in the same way I love the moon almost more than the sun. This one makes me want to play hopscotch!

Have you ever read "George McDonald's" fairytales? He was a contemporary of CS Lewis. He frequenly brings shadows to life and writes about them.

Jeff - thanks for making me laugh. It was just that I was feeling a little separated from myself, if that makes any sense.

Being separated from yourself makes more sense to me than you know--I've been living in my separated self for what feels like upteen days...but dawn comes! You know, I'm questioning a lot of my childhood beliefs, but the resurrection is one that I hang onto--not necessarily as I have in the past, but life always follows death. May you find your other half soon.
