Wow, Dali, what a thought. I don't think I could have done my own ear and kept the camera still enough.
With my little point and shoot, I have to put it on the long exposure setting for the close-ups to keep it from using the flash. Then, camera stability is of utmost concern!
Oh, so that's my daughter's ear :-). Her ears are so tiny. And one of her ears is pointy. She made me shoot the non-pointy ear :-).
I really like it! Cute ear, and artisticly very organic and abstract.
I'd recognize those iPod ear buds anywhere.! You're having a good time with macro month aren't ya - and putting out some neat pictures. I was also wondering how in the world you took a picture of your own ear like that. Your comment about your dd asking you to photograph the non-pointy ear made me lol.
You know, Kim, every time you can put the camera on a flat surface for the macros, do it. I will use the edge of a counter, a book on a table, the handrailing of an outdoor walk, the ground... It's nearly impossible to stabilize the camera for long enough exposures for macros.
So for your ear buds, I probably would have asked her to bend down near the edge fo the kitchen counter and told her to NOT MOVE. :) Maybe you did this. But it has helped me a lot to always stabilize the camera by letting it sit somewhere.
Julie -- Totally agree with your strategy to use surfaces to stabalize. And when I can't put the camera against a surface, I use the palm of my other hand to press the camera against -- workable although not as effective as a suface.
Oh, and I just ordered that cool little tripod that you had on your 365 blog a while back. Can't wait to get it!
