In many ways, she is thirteen-going-on-thirty. But here, she is definitely 13.

You know it is neat that you are capturing this particular year for her. There is something that happens to girls between 12 and 13, I can't remember the name, but there was a photographer who followed a set of girls through the year meeting with them once a week to photograph them. She published the photos in a book, and it is just amazing. It crosses cultures, socieo-ecomonic classes, and interests and hobbies. This is the year girls really visually change into young women.
Wow, look at the 13 yo self-assuredness that comes out in this photo... yep, there's no going back!
They do change, don't they? Somehow I hadn't realized that we had dds about the same age until now.
My older daughter is only a little more than three years from that age, and enough time has passed by so quickly that I know it will continue to move fast! It scares me but I know it's inevitable and good too. Wow.
