Inspired by Dali's self-portraits, in particular, "used womb"

I really hope these do not come off as self-pitying or self-indulgent...I just thought why not show the real-life-large-pincushion-belly? Now that I have it up, I think it is beautiful in its own way. It represents the journey to health and self-acceptance.

These are really nice. They do show self acceptence not self-pity. I am glad you are on the road to good health. We have been looking at the Dove ads too, which are all about the same kinds of things too. You continue to inspire me.

Do you have to have that on all the time? I can imagine it's somewhat similar to the upkeep of ds's g-tube when he had it. Good for you for the bold photography and admittance and for being so open.

Not self-pitying at all! I admire the grace with which you handle the whole thing. Very honest pictures.

Thank you, Kim! You inspire me and help me keep from falling into self-pity!

Wonderful "self-portrait".

Yes, I keep it on 24 x 7. I can disconnect for brief periods of time.

I change the site every 3 days or so.

My google reader is informing me I have nothing new to read, but here are some great photos. Wonder what's wrong?

I think these are great shots, and I am glad you wanted to share your "real life."

These are beautiful! I don't see pity in them at all... they look very stark and honest.

I really like that first one with your hand on your belly. And as others have said I don't see these as self-pitying at all. You are brave and honest.

I like the earlier self-portraits, too! I'm just late getting around to the blogs after traveling.

Wow Kim. Jon has a pin cushion tummy too.

I'm finally back from class, skiing and have two classes on track to start. Hope to email you later today. :)
