The birdseed that I scattered has attracted some birds. Nothing better than to sit by the window this morning and enjoy the action. I know these aren't the best shots, with a low-end camera through a screened in window, but I really enjoyed trying to get some pictures. The blue jays are not very cooperative, they never stay still. The upper left photos is one of the jays in the tree. I had about 5 of them at one point and the blue on the white ice was awesome.
Oh, and my other friend was back too :-).

Wow! I tried all weekend to take these kinds of photos. Beautiful! How do you get this close to the birds without them flying off?
Susan
These are great pictures - I love the cardinals! They are my fav bird. The one of the squirrel is cute - how did you get so close?
Aren't the birds great? I feel like I post too many of them, and yet they are the most fun thing to watch in my day! I wouldn't mind the squirrels if they wouldn't be such greedy beggars!
Susan & Donna - I shot from the window with the zoom...it was not easy, the zoom makes it hard to find the little critters. And you have to be quick once you focus on them.
The squirrel was practically right under my window.
Lots of shots and just a few keepers.
But, I did have fun!
So you finally got some birds eating the bird seed! I love those cardinals. Blue jays are hard to catch- I chased one unsuccessfully a week or so ago. These are good shots even w/ shooting through a window. The window pane actually gives them a soft appearance and I like the effect.
I love watching birds and squirrels, too, so I can imagine the good time you had. One day I'm going to sit outside and try. I love your shots.
I loved you photos! BRRRR...the snow looks cold to this Gulf Coast woman. I'm glad your persisted, because your birdies are wonderful.
I LOVE your pictures of birds and your squirrel. It's so much fun to see these through your window/camera/eyes!
